Lindsay Crouse was trained in New York by Uta Hagen and Sanford Meisner, and is a long time veteran of the New York stage. She has performed both off and on Broadway, in classic and modern works, receiving raves for her portrayals of Viola in TWELFTH NIGHT with William H. Macy, and Ophelia in HAMLET opposite William Hurt. She won an Obie Award for David Mamet’s REUNION. On Broadway she was given the Theater World Award for her portrayal of Ruth in Harold Pinter’s THE HOMECOMING. Recently at the Geffen Theater in Los Angeles, she starred with John Mahoney in Conner MacPherson’s The Weir, breaking the theater’s box office records.


Lindsay has starred in numerous dramas for Television. She has been referred to as “the queen of episodic TV,” guest- starring on C.S.I., CRIMINAL MINDS, LAW AND ORDER, E.R, NYPD BLUE, COLOMBO, MURDER SHE WROTE, TOUCHED BY AN ANGEL, HILL ST. BLUES, ARLI$$, and ALIAS. She spent a season as the infamous Professor Maggie Walsh, the “evil bitch-monster of death,” on BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER. Recently she covered all three networks, playing recurring characters on PROVIDENCE for NBC (as Mike Farrell’s doctor), HACK for CBS (as George Dzundza’s love), and DRAGNET for ABC (as Ed O’Neill’s captain with the LAPD). This year she rejoined LAW AND ORDER playing her third character on the show, this time on the bench.


Some of Lindsay’s best known films include THE VERDICT, HOUSE OF GAMES, THE INSIDER, SLAPSHOT, COMMUNION, ALL THE PRESIDENT’S MEN, PRINCE OF THE CITY, DANIEL, THE ARRIVAL, INDIAN IN THE CUPBOARD and PLACES IN THE HEART, for which she received an Academy Award nomination.
